The KPR Institute of Engineering and Technology is playing host to the Anna University Zone IX sports events at the college premises. The sports event which included Volleyball, Basketball and Kabaddi events was inaugurated on Monday by Dr. S Balusamy, Principal of KPR College of Arts, Science and Research in which 15 colleges of Zone IX are participating.

In Volleyball, Coimbatore Institute of Technology, Sri Sakthi Institute of Engineering and Technology, PSG College of Technology and KPR Institute of Engineering and Technology entered the semi-finals on the first day of the tournament.
In Kabaddi, KPR Institute of Engineering and Technology, Coimbatore Institute of Technology and Dr. NGP College of Engineering and Technology emerged victorious on the first day of the tournament. The finals of the tournament is scheduled for today and the winners of this tournament will qualify for the inter-zone tournament to be held, later this year.
