Coimbatore : PSG Polytechic College triumphed at the Coimbatore division, Inter Polytechic College badminton tournament for men organised by Inter Polytechic Athletic Association of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry at PSG Polytechic college on Friday here.
As part of the event, badminton, table tennis and basketball were conducted today.
Around 12 teams participated in the badminton tournament which concluded today. PSG, Narayana Guru, Ramakrishna Polytechic and Nanjiah Lingammal Polytechnic College were the top four teams qualified to the semi finals.
In the finals of the tournament PSG Polytechic College played against Sree Narayana Guru Polytechnic College and defeated them by 2-0 and claimed the trophy. While Ramakrishna Polytechic College sailed over Nanjiah Lingammal Polytechic college by 2-0 to secure third place in the tournament.
Similarly, in table tennis tournament held today at PSG Tech Indoor sports complex, Ramakrishna Polytechic College defeated the hosts in the finals by 3-1 to claim title. The third and fourth places were secured by Nachimuthu Polytechic College and Sri Ramakrishna Mission Vidhyalaya, respectively.
Dr. B Giriraj, Principal of PSG Polytechic College was the chief guest to the valedictory function and gave away the prizes to the winners of the tournament. P.B. Murali Krishnan, Director of Physical Education, Department of PSG made necessary arrangements for the tournament.
