Hosts Sri Krishna College of Engineering and Technology (SKCET) emerged champions in the Anna University Zone X Chess tournament held at the SKCET campus in the city, on Friday.
Hosts Sri Krishna College of Engineering and Technology (SKCET) emerged champions in the Anna University Zone X Chess tournament held at the SKCET campus in the city, on Friday.
About 28 teams, including 13 women teams participated in the two-day chess competition hosted by SKCET at the Krishna Hall in the college campus. Sri Krishna College of Engineering and Technology team scored 18 points, standing undefeated in the tournament with the men's team claiming the trophy.
Following the champions, with one loss in five games, Sri Krishna College of Technology secured second place in the tournament. In the women's category, Dr. Mahalingam College of Engineering and Technology lifted the trophy with 17 points in five games. The runners-up place was clinched by SVS College of Engineering and Technology.
Dr. J Janet, Principal of SKCET along with M Vinoth Kumar, FIDA Arbiter awarded the trophies and certificates to the winners of the tournament.
