Combined District Cricket Tournament: A comfortable win for combined district team; Nirmal scalps five wickets

Coimbatore: City boys, N.D. Hari Shankar and P. Nirmal helped combined district team to register a convincing 91 runs victory over City XI in the TNCA under 19 combined district cricket tournament held at Sri Ramakrishna college of Arts and Science ground here on Saturday.

Coimbatore: City boys, N.D. Hari Shankar and P. Nirmal helped combined district team to register a convincing 91 runs victory over City XI in the TNCA under 19 combined district cricket tournament held at Sri Ramakrishna college of Arts and Science ground here on Saturday. 

After conceding 154 runs lead in the first innings, combined district team pounced back in the game in the third day, as they scored 351 for 8 in that day alone. Hari Shankar and Mohit helped them to get back in the game. 

Starting their final day with two set of batsmen in the crease, combined district team were positive, scoring 440 in 109 overs. Mohit, the man at the tail end of the innings scored an unbeaten 131 to put his team in a good position. 

Following a brilliant batting in the second innings, Coimbatore lad P. Nirmal did the trick with the ball and scalped 5 wickets for 77 runs which helped combined district team to register a thumping victory, in the under 19 years four day Combined district match. 

Match Result: Combined District 183 in 70.5 overs & 440 in 109.5 overs defeated City XI 337 in 97.5 overs& 195 in 51.2 overs
