The 62nd Republic day athletics meet by school education department is being organised at various schools in the city. As part of the meet, athletic meet for schools under West Zone is being hosted by Graham Staines Matriculation School here in the city on Wednesday and Thursday.
The meet was inaugurated by R. Murugan, Chief Educational Officer along with R. Subbulakshmi, District Educational Officer, Raja Rajeswari, District Director of Physical Education and Dr. Austim Sam, Correspondent of Graham Staines Matriculation School.
The meet has been conducted under age categories - Under 14,16,17 and 19 years for both boys and girls. In the first day of the meet, P.R. Rakavi, Sri Sathya, N. Arthi, A. Kavipriya, E. Harshavardhini, M. Sasmitha, R. Yasodha, P. Pramoth, R. Manickraj, R. Nedra, Udhaya Chandrika, Shinee Nithila, C.S. Cibiram, K. Ashwin, T. Madheswaran, S.Gokul, K. Deepak and R. Sridevi emerged victorious in their respective categories.
