Coimbatore: The Egger Sports Club which remained undefeated throughout the CDCA League Entry Tournament emerged as champions and lifted the CRI trophy which concluded today at the Coimbatore Institute of Technology.
Coimbatore: The Egger Sports Club which remained undefeated throughout the CDCA League Entry Tournament emerged as champions and lifted the CRI trophy which concluded today at the Coimbatore Institute of Technology.
The Egger Sports Club played against Grand Dravid Cricket Academy in the finals of the tournament which was held today. The champions sealed their opponents by 10 runs to lift the trophy.
The Egger Sports Club scored 224 for 9 in their 50 overs. C Arun Prasad and S Tamilanban of Egger scored 30 runs each for their side. In a very competitive match, chasing 225 runs, Grand Dravid Cricket academy fell 10 runs short of the target. S Yuvraj of Egger SC scalped four wickets for his side which paved the way for Egger's victory.
The two teams that played in the finals are being promoted to the fifth division league matches while the top eight teams from this tournament will be playing the sixth division in the CDCA league matches for the upcoming season of 2019-2020.
