CDCA league entry tournament: Tamil Anban helps Egger Sports Club to enter finals

Coimbatore: S. Tamil Anban's destructive spell of 5 for 14 runs against Appasamy Cricket Club in the semi final clash of CDCA League entry knockout tournament helped Egger Sports club to enter finals.

At the match held at for C.R.I on Tuesday at PSG IMS "C" grounds here, Egger sports club's consistent performance throughout the tournament and their destructive bowling performance in the semi finals, bundled out Appasamy C.C for just 65 runs and ensured their spot in the finals.

Bowling first, Egger bowlers dominated the match right from the beginning of the game. Tamil Anban and Mohan Raj jointly collapsed the opponent's batting line up, making them surrender for just 65 in 27 overs.

Chasing a low total is not always easy, as Egger too lost 5 wickets to chase 66 runs.

Scores: Appasamy C.C 65 in 27 overs (S.Tamilanban 5/14, M.Mohan Raj 3/17) lost to Eggers Sports Club 66/5 in 12.4 overs.

In another semi finals held at Coimbatore Institute of Technology, Grand Ragul cricket club defeated National Sports School by 59 runs to enter finals.

Scores: Grand Dravid C.A 208 in 49.2 overs (G.Gokulnath 35, S.Sakthivel 39, V.Sathya Moorthy 3/34) beat National Sports School C.A 149 in 39.2 overs (R.R.V.Praveen 3/22).
