Coimbatore : Though Dindigul Dragons (DD) failed to make an impact in the opening game this season, Coimbatore players and DD's opening pair, C.Hari Nishanth and N.Jagadeesan made it count by raising 104 runs off 80 balls for the opening wicket in the 100th Sankar Cement TNPL match held against Siechem Madurai Panthers.

While Hari Nishanth smashed three sixes and six fours in 47 balls, Jagadeesan carried the bat to remain unbeaten on 87 (57 balls, 12 fours and 1 six) as DD posted 182-6 in 20 overs.
Hari Nishanth hit a boundary in almost every over in the powerplay, which helped Jagadeesan settle in. Nishanth, who hit two successive sixes off his district mate, off-spinner Mithun, got out going for another big hit off pacer J Kousik another Coimbatore bowler.

While, Jagadeesan kept the runs flowing at the other end. The 15th over bowled by medium - pacer, Jabez Moses was very productive for DD, as 24 runs came off with both Jagadeesan and Ashwin scoring a six and four each.
In the last over bowled by pacer Kiran Akash of Siechem Madurai Panthers, Jagadeesan entertained the crowd with a flurry of boundaries and raked up 32 runs in the final two overs.fir DD.
The 24-year-old, Jagadeesan created his own milestone in the 100th TNPL match by becoming the first batsman to score 1,000 runs in the league. His tally after the innings stood at 1,008 runs from 25 matches, that includes 11 fifties.

“Being part of the 100th match is a great feeling and something I am really proud of” he said.
