Coimbatore : To promote Kabaddi and offer local players a platform to fulfill their dreams, Asian Paints organised 'Bharat Super League,' which is the Kabaddi league held in various parts of the State, with the finals scheduled for this evening at the Corporation Ground in the city.

After an exciting 12 days of the tournament which witnessed 128 teams across 8 districts in Tamil Nadu battling it out, the stage is set for the State finals. Coimbatore, Erode, Karur and Salem are the top four teams featuring in the semi-finals.

To mark the success of the initiative that received mass local response from both players and fans, Asian Paints who are the hosts of the Bharat Super League 2019 held a press conference in which S Badrinath, the former Indian cricketer was present. Addressing the media, S Badrinath said, "It is great to see reputed organisations like Asian Paints lending support to build Kabaddi and boost the morale and confidence of young and dynamic players in our nation. It is my honor to be with the teams who have showed a high level of performance, fitness levels and game play." He also added that tournaments like these are great platforms for players from rural parts of the State.

"Tamil Nadu Amateur Kabaddi Association along with Asian Paints organised Bharat Super League in the State and it was very helpful for many players from the grassroots level," opined Saffiulla, General Secratary of the Tamil Nadu Amateur Kabaddi Association. Commenting on the ongoing Pro Kabaddi League, Saffiulla stated that over 35 Tamil Nadu players are representing various teams in the Pro Kabaddi League. "Tournaments like these are the base for representation. We are working toward producing quality players from the State and are hoping that we will produce some good players from the State to represent the nation," added Saffiulla.
