Coimbatore: More than 600 sports enthusiast and public took part in the 'Run for Wheels Marathon' organised by Ganga Hospitals along with Sittruli Foundation on Sunday here in the city.
Coimbatore: More than 600 sports enthusiast and public took part in the 'Run for Wheels Marathon' organised by Ganga Hospitals along with Sittruli Foundation on Sunday here in the city.

The marathon was conducted to raise fund to support para sports persons in the city. The funds raised will be used to procure sports wheelchair for players getting trained in Ganga Spine rehabilitation center, here.
The marathon was flagged off by Sujith Kumar, Superintendent of Police from Ganga Spine Injury Rehabilitations Centre on Mettupalayam road.
The marathon was conducted under three categories 10km, 5km and 3km and free run for participants aged above 65.

Following the marathon, an exhibition wheelchair basketball match was inaugurated by K.m Rajamani, District Collector. Wheelchair players exhibited their talents and left the spectators in awe.

The players who represented Tamil Nadu wheelchair basketball team was felicitated by Dr. S. Rajasekaran, Head of Department of Orthopedics and Spine, Ganga Hospitals.

Participants were presented with medals, t-shirts, e- certificates, tree saplings, breakfast and cash prize.
