Coimbatore: City lass, P S Chandramugi, who is in just Class 10 has won a gold medal at the 10th Sub Junior Women National Boxing Championship held at the College of Engineering Roorkee near Haridwar in Uttarakhand, recently.
Coimbatore: City lass, P S Chandramugi, who is in just Class 10 has won a gold medal at the 10th Sub Junior Women National Boxing Championship held at the College of Engineering Roorkee near Haridwar in Uttarakhand, recently.

The young boxer from Coimbatore represented Tamil Nadu in the Sub Junior category (under 14) in the 57-60 kg weight category. Participants from around 10 states took part in the Championship and were selected on the basis of their performance in state-level matches.
P S Chandramugi has a national medal in Silambam and was introduced to boxing, six months ago. She won five medals in the District, State and National level competitions. She was able to win a medal at the national-level in a very short time and believes that she can go a long way in sport.
Regular practice and the dedication of this young girl has helped her clinch the gold. "Representing the country and winning a medal at the Olympics is my ultimate goal in this sport and I am working toward it," says the young national gold medallist, P S Chandramugi.
