Coimbatore: Amid tough fight, Chennai Customs team lifted the Trophy in the 6th Golden Jubilee State Level Basketball tournament for men organised by PSG sports Club at PSG Tech Indoor Stadium on Friday.
Coimbatore: Amid tough fight, Chennai Customs team lifted the Trophy in the 6th Golden Jubilee State Level Basketball tournament for men organised by PSG sports Club at PSG Tech Indoor Stadium on Friday.
Around 40 best teams across Tamil Nadu took part in the tournament held from July 8 to 12 in which teams played under knock out basis and top four teams qualified to the league stages.
Team Customs from Chennai, Tamil Nadu police from Madurai, Arise basketball Club, Chennai and Dindigul basketball were the four top teams who played in the league stage matches at PSG Tech Indoor sports complex.
Each team played three matches in the league stages in which Customs Chennai won all the three matches ( 93-76 Vs Arise Steel, 93-61 Vs Dindigul basketball Club and 92-74 Vs Tamil Nadu Police) emerged as champions of PSG Trophy 2019.
Following Customs, Tamil Nadu police secured two wins (95-89 vs Dindigul basketball Club and 98-94 vs Arise Steel) secured the second place in the tournament.
Arise Steel from Chennai and Dindigul basketball Club secured the third and fourth place respectively.
Dr.K.Prakasan, Principal In-charge, PSG College of Technology was the chief guest for the valedictory function. He distributed trophies and cash awards and to the winners.
