Coimbatore : Ragulvarshan's brilliant effort (32 points) helped Arise Steels, Chennai to sail over Spartans Basketball Club, Coimbatore by 35 points at the 6th Golden Jubilee state level basketball tournament for the PSG Trophy, held at the PSG Tech indoor basketball stadium on Wednesday.

Arise Steels took on Spartans Basketball Club and exhibited great skill, showing their intent to win right throughout the game which spurred them onto a victory over Spartans by 86-31 to qualify for the next round of the tournament.
In another knock out match, YMCA (70) Coimbatore ran through Jayabharathi (52) Basketball Club by 18 points. Collistus Gerard scored 25 points for YMCA, while Customs, Chennai defeated Sathyabama, Chennai 90-68. Parthiban scored 14 points for Customs.
About 40 teams from various parts of Tamil Nadu are taking part in the tournament which kick-started on Monday at the PSG indoor stadium. All the leading basketball clubs across Tamil Nadu are taking part in the tournament which is being conducted under the knockout and league basis.
