Coimbatore : R K Sree Rangammal Kalvinilayam HSS has lifted the S Venkatakrishnan Trophy in the Junior category, annihilating PSG Sarvajana HSS in the finals by a scoreline of 65-28 in the 65th YMCA district level basketball tournament held at the YMCA Courts on Tuesday.

The Junior category matches in the YMCA district level basket ball tournament kick-started last Friday. The final was played on July 8, in which PSG and RKS clashed for the trophy. The RKS boys were dominant right from the beginning of the game and kept scoring, with Lingeswaran's top effort of 20 points providing them with the momentum. RKS defeated PSG Sarvajana by 37 points to emerge champions in the Juniors category.
Similarly in the Mini Boys category, the Young Blood Basketball Club emerged as champions, defeating RKS in the finals by 59-36. About 80 teams took part in the tournament in various categories. The YMCA basketball tournament is one of the oldest tournaments that has enthralled sports lovers in the State.
