Coimbatore: As many as 14 Players from Coimbatore shone in the Second edition of the National Roller Skate Basketball Federation Cup organised by Roller skating Federation of India at Goa, recently.
The players from Coimbatore who were part of the Tamil Nadu team brought laurels to the State team by helping them lift the overall championship of this prestigious tournament.
The tournament featured around 20 teams from Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Delhi, Maharashtra, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Bihar in which Tamil Nadu clinched the overall championship by securing gold in Mini boys, Mini Girls and sub Junior boys category and silver in senior boys category and bronze in sub Junior girls category.
Kavin Kumar, Sanjay, Bhavana, Jishnu, Jeshwanth, Priyadharshini, Keerthi Malini, Haritha, Madhumitha, Raksha, Sitheshwari, Jovitha, Deepak Sabarish and Sree hari were the players from Coimbatore who represented the Tamil Nadu team.
Deepak Sabarish was awarded with “Best Coach award” and selected as the “Best Referee” of the tournament.
R. Vijayaragavan, President of Roller Skate Basketball Association and R Nandhakumar, Secretary congratulated the winners.
