Coimbatore : It's golden day for Karnataka team, as players from the State clinched the title in singles and double category of Coimbatore District Tennis Association Championship (All India Ranking National series) for under 16 boys and girls held at Levo Sports here in the city on Saturday.
Coimbatore : It's golden day for Karnataka team, as players from the State clinched the title in singles and double category of Coimbatore District Tennis Association Championship (All India Ranking National series) for under 16 boys and girls held at Levo Sports here in the city on Saturday.
More than 100 participants from Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Odisha, West Bengal took part in the tournament organised by Levi Sports. The tournament was conducted for two categories - singles and doubles for both junior boys and girls under 16 years of age.

Finals of the tournament took place on Saturday at Levo sports tennis court at Kalapatti in the city. In the Boys singles category Nithilan Eric from Karnataka sealed an easy victory by 6-1, 6-0 over Saheb Sodhi of Maharashtra to lift the trophy while in doubles Eric teamed up with his state mate Arjun Premkumar to defeat his state mates Monil Lotlikar and Ronnin Lotlikar by 6-7, 6-3 and 10-7.
In girls category Karnataka's Suhitha Maruri defeated Kundana Sri Bandaru by 6-3, 6-3 to crown as champion in singles category and in doubles Suhitha maruri teaming up with her sister Reshma Maruri to seal Divya Bharadwaj of Gujarat and Aarni Yellu Reddy of Telangana state by 6-2, 7-6 to lift the trophy.

Sree Hari, the Senior coach, was the chief guest at the prize distribution and presented the trophies to the winners of the tournament.
