Coimbatore : District level Basketball tournament for 2nd "All India All Star" Navakodi Memorial Trophy was kicked off at the District Basketball Association Court here in the city on Wednesday.
Coimbatore : District level Basketball tournament for 2nd "All India All Star" Navakodi Memorial Trophy was kicked off at the District Basketball Association Court here in the city on Wednesday.
The five-day basketball tournament will be featuring around 40 teams from various schools and clubs in the city. The tournament is being conducted under three different categories- sub Junior boys (Under 13years), Junior boys (under 16 years) and sub Junior girls by Rajalakshmi Sports Club.
Being the first day of the tournament, eight matches took place at CDBA basketball Court. In the first match in Junior boys category Mallayan defeated Rajalakshmi sports club by 62-16. In another match, Texcity basketball club defeated Ananya Vidhyalaya by 52-35, while Bharathi MHSS has registered their first win against young blood basketball club by 47-20.
In the sub Junior category, Kadri Mills defeated Suguna PIP by 41-37 and YMCA thrashed Rajalakshmi sports club by 47-7 to register a big win in their opening game and KK Naidu school went through Texcity by 20-09.
