Coimbatore: Kovai Knights sealed Cosmo Village Sports Academy by 8 wickets to register a thumping victory in the TNCA-CDCA first division league match held at PSG IMS A here on Saturday.
The Cosmo Village Sports Club which batted first did not have great time with the bat, as they kept losing wickets at regular intervals. At the end, Cosmo Club scored 129 in 25.4 overs (Tharish Kannan 4/26) but lost to Kovai Knights 130/2 in 19.3 Overs (T.Veeramani 65*, R.Sri Neranjan 31).
Following Cosmo's batting, Kovai Knights exhibited extraordinary batting skills by chasing down the target in just 19.3 overs with 8 wickets remaining.
Similarly in a third division match, PSG IMS C between Sir Robert Stanes M.C.C and Kovai Tuskers, R. Ashwin of Kovai Tuskers bowled a brilliant spell of 5/42 but his effort was not enough to help his team win.
Robert Stanes scored 240 in 36 overs, in return Kovai Tuskers were all out for 184 in 41 overs. Thus, registering a 56 run victory in the CDCA third division league match.
