In a do-or-die situation, the Coimbatore lads did not buckle under pressure on the field but rather displayed top batting skills and posted a good total on the scoreboard. Inspired by the responsible batting display, the Coimbatore bowlers took charge led by R Ashwin who scalped 4 wickets. Coimbatore bundled out Theni for 50 runs in 37 overs and registered its first victory in the tournament.

In another match at the PSG Medical College grounds, Kancheepuram registered its second consecutive win, defeating Vellore by 10 wickets. Vellore were all out for 89 runs in 36.2 overs, and Kancheepuram chased down the target with ease.
