Magical spin haul of six wickets by Mohan Prasath drives home E.A.P to quarter finals

Coimbatore : A sensational bowling spell from left-arm orthodox spinner S Mohan Prasath led E.A.P Cricket Academy to a comfortable 77-run victory over Vijay Cricket Club in the CDCA Sri Ramakrishna Mills T20 cricket tournament, at CIT on Sunday.

Coimbatore : A sensational bowling spell from left-arm orthodox spinner S Mohan Prasath led E.A.P Cricket Academy to a comfortable 77-run victory over Vijay Cricket Club in the CDCA Sri Ramakrishna Mills T20 cricket tournament, at CIT on Sunday.



The Coimbatore District Cricket Association and Sri Ramakrishna Mills jointly organised the district level T20 cricket tournament in the city, which is being conducted on a knock out basis in which 40 teams are participating. In a knock out match played at the Coimbatore Institute of Technology on Sunday, E.A.P. CA and Vijay C.C. clashed. E.A.P batted first scoring 138 in 20 overs. Defending a decent total, the E.A.P bowlers struck early in the innings, spearheaded by Mohan's magical spin bowling. E.A.P were on top right through the match striking at regular intervals which led the team to a comfortable victory and helping them qualify for the quarter finals of the tournament.



Scores : E.A.P C.A - 138/4 in 20 Overs - (Mani Bharathy 51*, S Janarthanan 40) defeated Vijay C.C - 61 in 13.5 Overs (S Mohan Prasath 6/6, Rajasekhar 3/17). 

In another pre-quarter finals match at IMS, C Rajasekar Mani Memorial cricket club registered an easy 9-wicket win over Magma C.C.

Scores : Magma C.C 66 in 16.5 Overs (P Balakrishnan 3/14, R Shanmuga Sundaram 3/10) lost to Rajasekhar Mani Memorial Cricket Club 70/1 in 13 Overs (K Perumalsamy 38).
