Coimbatore: The Vaga Football Club thrashed Royal Soccer Club 8-1 in the Coimbatore District Football Association's 'C' division league match held at the Carmel Garden School grounds, on Wednesday.
The Coimbatore District Football Association has been conducting its C division league matches at the Carmel Garden School grounds from April 28. On Wednesday, two matches were played. One match was between Madukkarai UFC and Podanur SC and the second match was played between Vaga FC and Royal SC.
In a match played between Vaga FC and Royal SC on Wednesday, Vaga FC scored goals early on and were dominant till the final whistle from the referee. Alister of Vaga scored four goals for his side while Abinana of Royal FC scored a consolation goal for his side.
In another close match, Madukkarai UFC defeated Podanur SC by 1-0. Ashwin Kumar of Madukkarai UFC scored the winning goal for his side in the 54th minute of the game.
