The Nilgiris: The annual State level Tennis tournament was flagged off in Coonoor, on Tuesday.

Stepping into the third successful year, the tournament will be conducted under three different categories -- under 14 boys, girls and for people above 50 years of age.

More than 200 players from various parts of the State have arrived to Coonoor to take part in the tournament between May 7-13. The winners will be awarded a cash prize of Rs.1 lakh.

Dinesh Kumar and Ashok Kumar, the administrators of New Social Club made the necessary arrangements for the tournament and Mr. Krishnan will be the chair umpire for the matches.
