Coimbatore : On Sunday night, the city's cricket-crazy fans got more crazier as they watched the Vivo Indian Premier League (IPL) matches on giant-sized screen coupled at the CODISSIA grounds here.
With over 12,000 spectators the ground echoed the screams of the fans especially during the CSK vs Kings X1 match screened yesterday night. The stadium like atmosphere kept the crowd jubilant.
Electrifying music and stalls for merchandise, food, beverages by IPL official sponsors transformed the CODISSIA grounds into a mini live stadium.

Organised by the BCCI, the fan park is well-received in cities like Coimbatore, as cricket enthusiasts get a chance to watch match in giant screens in stadium like atmosphere.
“ The IPL fan park is happening in Coimbatore for the fourth year. But this is the first time, we had such a huge crowd. We expected around 8000 to 10000 people but we've had 12000 fans thronging the fan park over the weekend. It's a huge success!” said Zakhir , a member of the organising team.
Prabhu, who is part of the CSK fan club core team was way too excited looking at the turn out. “With no IPL hosted in the city, we did expect a good crowd. But 12000 was a big number. In the evening it was all Yellove and we are overwhelmed. This atmosphere is truly electrifying”.
