Coimbatore : Manoj Kumar, a 28-year old para athlete bagged two silver medals at the fourth International Para Athletics Championship held at the Grand Stadium in Morocco, North Africa.

Manoj Kumar who has participated in para athletics since 2014 has now begun to win international medals. "Participating in an international competition is big thing and I was nervous since it was my first international event. I hope I could do better in upcoming competitions," exulted Manoj.

Manoj participated in the fourth International Para Athletics Championship which was held at Morocco, North Africa between April 25-28. Though it was the first international competition for Manoj, he impressed spectators and officials alike as he passed the finish line at 16.29 seconds to bag silver in the 100m Wheelchair racing event.
Similarly, he stopped the clock at 30:08 seconds to win another silver medal in the 200m Wheelchair racing event. Though he missed the gold medal by just .75 seconds, Manoj qualifies to take part in the international competition to be held in August at Dubai.

"Physical Disability is not an obstacle to achieve," says the silver medalist of the International Para Athletics Championship. "Four years of hard work and sincerity gave me these medals at the international level and I will work even harder to achieve my dreams," said Manoj. He credits his trainer Palanisamy for the unwavering support and thanked Sahai Para Sports academy for their support and sponsorship in his quest to excel in para sports.
