Coimbatore : The Tiruvallur District Cricket Association team defeated the Coimbatore District Cricket Association team by 9 wickets to book a spot in the finals of the TNCA Under-19 inter district cricket tournament, held at the PSG Medical College grounds from Monday.
The Coimbatore District Cricket Association hosted the semi-finals of the TNCA Under-19 inter district cricket tournament at the PSG Medical College grounds. The three-day match began on Monday in which Tiruvallur dominated the game very early on.
Even at stumps on Day One, Tiruvallur were right on top of the game as they bundled out Coimbatore for 143 and Tiruvallur ended the day at 70/1. Resuming batting on Day 2, with the help of Ram Aravindh's brilliant knock of 132, Tiruvallur DCA scored 289 in 90 overs.

Having conceded 146 runs lead in the first innings, Coimbatore was able to score only 169 in the second innings, setting a paltry target of 24 runs for Tiruvallur to enter the finals. Chasing just 24 runs in the semi-finals of tournament, the Tiruvallur batsmen easily knocked down the target in the 6th over itself to enter the finals.
