Coimbatore: V Arun of Coimbatore Rifle Club has bagged a silver medal at the 28th G.V. Mavalankar Big Bore Shooting Competition, an national level shooting competition organised by National Rifle association at Indore from Arpil 15 to 19.
Coimbatore: V Arun of Coimbatore Rifle Club has bagged a silver medal at the 28th G.V. Mavalankar Big Bore Shooting Competition, an national level shooting competition organised by National Rifle association at Indore from Arpil 15 to 19.
Arun participated in the Men's NR individual category in which he lost his gold medal to Arshdeep Singh of Haryana by just three points as Arun scored 286/300 in his very first big bore category where the competitors shoots the 300m target range.

Lack of practice facility in the club for practicing big bore category range did not deter Arun. With the guidance of K.S Senthil Kumar and other senior members of the club, he practised with 50m range for two weeks using .22 rifles.
Since the weather wasn't favourable for him, he gave his best to shoot 386 in the competition. Arun credits his success to his fellow members for their continued support and motivation.
