Ironically, since he hails from a middle class family, Aadarsh does not have funds to participate in an international competition and hence is seeking financial assistance for the same.
Aadarsh is Coimbatore's renowned high jumper who has won several State and National medals and became the first person in the city to secure a gold medal at the All India Inter University Games in the high jump category.
Though Aadarsh is extremely skilled enough to scale new heights in his high jumping career, obtaining sufficient funds to back his prowess has been a challenge.
As per University regulations, the expenditure of Indian university athletes to take part in an international tournament is about 2.3 lakhs. Since Aadarsh has not obtained a sponsorship from his University, he is seeking financial support and sponsorship to achieve his dream.
"Winning a gold medal for my country at the Olympics is my ultimate goal. I believe that my hard work and determination will help me achieve my dream. I started my career when I was studying Class X, and since then I have faced many failures.
Every time I failed, I would work harder and reached this level now for which I practise four hours a day. Now I have been selected to participate in the World University Games but I have not been able to get any sponsorship for the tournament expenditure. I am hoping that people will come forward to help me get sponsorship," added the enthusiastic Aadarsh.
