Coimbatore: The Tamil Nadu Wheelchair Association along with the Sittruli Foundation is organising a state-level basketball tournament for the physically challenged players, at the Ganga Spine Injury Rehabilitation Centre in the city on April 6 and 7.
Coimbatore: The Tamil Nadu Wheelchair Association along with the Sittruli Foundation is organising a state-level basketball tournament for the physically challenged players, at the Ganga Spine Injury Rehabilitation Centre in the city on April 6 and 7.
The tournament will feature the top four men's teams in the State (Coimbatore, Chennai, Vellore and Kallakurichi) and two women's teams. The tournament is being organised on a round robin basis.
Top players from across the State are taking part in the tournament, including two national-level players and four state-level players. Today, being the first day, four matches are to be played with the remaining scheduled for tomorrow.
Dr. J G Shanmuganathan, Director, Ganga Hospital inaugurated the tournament. Kamal Rajan, PMO, Cognizant Outreach and Gunasekaran, Sittruli Foundation were also present at the event.
