KCT celebrates its annual sports day under the banner 'Kalam' at their college campus at Saravanampatti here between March 1-7.
Students of various departments both men and women were divided into seven teams named Cheras, Cholas, Pandyas, Chanakyas, Pallavas, Mayuras and guptas. The team had participated in various competitions like Badminton, Ball Badminton, Cricket, Football 5’s, Handball, Hockey, Kabhadi, Khokho, Table Tennis, Tennis, Volleyball, Basketball, Athletics, Throw ball, and Chess.
As part of the intra department sports event, 100 meters 'Kalam Run' was organised on March 6. The highlight of the event was the sport competitions held for the staff members and their children. Team 'Mayuras' lifted the overall championship in Kalam 2019. Following Mayuras, team Guptas emerged as runners.
In the individual award category J.Jothi, IVth ECE, J. Lakshmi, IVth CSE, Velmalaiathiraja and A R Karthik Arumugam of IV Civil engineering were awarded with 'The all rounder of the year award'. Sports excellence of the year, responsible sportsman and sportswoman, learner to achiever award were the other recognitions awarded to the sporstmen and women of the college.
