Coimbatore : Sri Krishna College of Engineering and Technology (SKCET) lifted the 'Revels 2019 Trophy,' a national level inter-college sports fest cricket tournament organised by the Manipal University, Karnataka.
Coimbatore : Sri Krishna College of Engineering and Technology (SKCET) lifted the 'Revels 2019 Trophy,' a national level inter-college sports fest cricket tournament organised by the Manipal University, Karnataka.
This victory is the first ever in the history of SKCET with the cricket team triumphing in a national arena where 14 college teams from across India vied for the trophy. SKCET remained unbeaten throughout the tournament enroute to being crowned with its maiden national level title.

The teams in the tournament were divided into four groups in the league stage matches, of which six teams were selected to play super six stages of the matches. The top four teams from the Super Six went on to play the semi-finals.
In the semi-finals of the tournament, SKCET faced Amrita University, defeating them by 12 runs to enter their first ever national-level finals. SKCET scored 139/8 in their 20 overs, with Yokes scoring a solid 49 runs for his side. Defending 139, SKCET managed to bundle out their opponents for 127, thus marking its presence in the final.
The finals of the tournament was against host Manipal Institute of Technology. SKCET emerged champions by scoring 145 runs, with Yokes once again chipping in with a useful 57 runs. SKCET then went on to restrict the hosts to 120 runs to claim their first-ever national title.
