Coimbatore : EASA College of Engineering and Technology is hosting a two-day state level inter-engineering and polytechnic colleges 'Five-a-side' football tournament for the EASA Champions Trophy 2109 at the college premises in the outskirts of the city, since Tuesday.

The tournament is featuring 16 Engineering and Polytechnic Colleges from Coimbatore, Tirupur, Erode, Salem and Nilgiris and being conducted on a knockout basis.

On the first day of the tournament, Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan College of Engineering defeated Kumaraguru College of Technology 'B' by 1-0 while EASA College 'B' team edged over CMS college by 3-2, while Karpagam College won against Kongunadu College by 2-1. The winners of the tournament will be awarded with a cash prize of Rs.6000 along with the trophy. The first and second runners up of the tournament will receive cash prizes of Rs.3000 and Rs.2000, respectively.
The tournament was inaugurated by T D Eawaramoorthy, Chairman of EASA College. Ajith, CEO, EASA, Administrative Officer Srikanth and Robert Kennedy, the Principal of the College were present at the inauguration.
