Coimbatore : Tamil Nadu defeated Uttarakhand 40-22 in the finals of the above 30 years women's category, thus retaining the basketball crown in the second National Masters Games held by the Masters Games Federation (MGF) at the Pavilion Ground, Dehradun from February 28 to March 2.

The Tamil Nadu team maintained a high pace throughout the tournament and were dominant from the very first game. They defeated Himachal Pradesh by 49-36 to start their winning spree in the second National Masters Games 2019.
Later, Tamil Nadu faced Chhattisgarh in the second match and sealed them by 30-16 to enter the finals of the tournament. Tamil Nadu then went on to overwhelm Uttarakhand by a huge margin in the finals to lift the trophy.
Vidya S (Chennai), Hemavathy Arunkumar (Chennai), K Saranya (Chennai), M Sheeba Pramola (Captain) (Chennai), Subashini Swaminathan (Chennai), Usha Sridhar (Chennai), Vijayapriya Rajagopalan (Chennai), Prabha J (Coimbatore), Pavithra S (Chennai), Meena B Singh (Chennai), J P Femin (Nagercoil), Anandhi Duraiswamy (Chengulpet) were the players who represented the Tamil Nadu basketball team.
Besides basketball, sports events in weightlifting, swimming, badminton, lawn tennis, table tennis, football, hockey, volleyball and athletics is being conducted as part of the National Masters Games.
