Coimbatore : Paavai Engineering College, Namakkal reigned as champions in the 13th state level inter- engineering colleges invitational handball tournament for the 'PSG Trophy,' held between March 1-3. The tournament was conducted by the Physical Education Department of the PSG College of Technology, here at the PSG Tech College handball court.
Coimbatore : Paavai Engineering College, Namakkal reigned as champions in the 13th state level inter- engineering colleges invitational handball tournament for the 'PSG Trophy,' held between March 1-3. The tournament was conducted by the Physical Education Department of the PSG College of Technology, here at the PSG Tech College handball court.
The tournament featured around 12 engineering college teams from various districts. The tournament was conducted under a league basis. Winning all the matches in the league, Paavai Engineering College lifted the trophy. Jeppiaar Engineering College secured the second place. The third and fourth places in the tournament was secured by Kumaraguru College of Technology and PSG College of Technology. The winner of the tournament was awarded with a cash prize of Rs.10,000 while the runners-up was awarded Rs. 6,000.
Tamizh Anbu of KCT was selected as the best goalkeeper of the tournament while Karthikesh of PSG Tech received the Emerging Player award and Muthu Kumar of Paavai College was selected as the Best Player of the tournament.


The third and fourth placed teams received cash prizes of Rs.3000 and Rs.2000 respectively. M Peter Celestine, Group Commander, the NCC Coimbatore Group distributed prizes to the winners.
