Coimbatore : PSG Tech Hockey Club is hosting the 13th Tech Hockey league for the Major Dhyan Chand Memorial Trophy, a district-level hockey tournament at the PSG Tech College premises, here in the city.
Coimbatore : PSG Tech Hockey Club is hosting the 13th Tech Hockey league for the Major Dhyan Chand Memorial Trophy, a district-level hockey tournament at the PSG Tech College premises, here in the city.
The six-day tournament which kick-started yesterday, is featuring around 14 teams from the city with the tournament being held on a league basis. The tournament was inaugurated by R Ramakrishnan, Retired District Sports Officer. The tournament finals is scheduled for March 3.
On the first day of the tournament, four matches were held. The first match was 1-1 draw affair between Sri Sakthi Institute of Technology and Sri Sakthi Engineering College, while in another match Dr. NGP Institute of Technology thrashed Park College of Technology by 4-0.
Similarly, Sri Sakthi Institute of Engineering and Technology defeated Karpagam College of Engineering by 2-0 ,and Hindustan Institute of Technology beat NGP Institute of Technology by 3-2.
