Chennai City FC (CCFC) have thus taken their points tally to 40 with this easy 3-1 win and fortified their chances of winning the title. As always, the Spanish trio did the trick for CCFC as they took an early 3 points lead in the first half of the game.

CCFC created early chances but failed to go past the nets. It was Nestor and Vanspal who failed to grab the early oppurtunity, but CCFC took the lead as Nestor Jesus stunned the weekend crowd with a goal from a good 40 yards.
In the 15th minute of the game,a Mohun Bagan corner gave CCFC an oppurtunity to extend their lead further, and this time round Sandro beat the visitors guard from the edge of the box. Eight minutes later, a brilliant pass from Nestor to Manzi netted a beauty. William Lalnunfela in the 37th minute of the game scored the only consolation goal for visitors.

CCFC started the second half in a similar fashion to the first half. Though Mohun Bagan is known for their strong defence, nothing went right with the Spanish trio dominating in the visitors court. Nestor Jesus was the Hero of the Match for his brilliant performance.
