Coimbatore : Coimbatore power lifters had marked their presence by winning three medals at the All India Inter University Power lifting Championship 2018-19 held at university of Calicut, Kerala on Friday.
Coimbatore : Coimbatore power lifters had marked their presence by winning three medals at the All India Inter University Power lifting Championship 2018-19 held at university of Calicut, Kerala on Friday.
The three medalists are: B Prabhu (PSG CAS) lifted 710 kg in 74kg category to clinch gold; while C Aricazhagan (PSG CAS)lifted 807.5 kg in 83kg category to clinch gold and in 105 kg category M Santhosh (PSG CAS) bagged bronze by lifting 780 kg.
All India Inter University power lifting championship 2018-19 was hosted by University of Calicut at their college premises from Feb 20. More than 650 power lifters from various part of the country took part in the championship which was conducted under 9 different weight categories.
Six students from Coimbatore represented Bharathiar University in the championship, out of which three students won two gold and one bronze medal.
