Coimbatore: Regional level football tournament for 'CENTIES 2019' trophy kick-started here at the Coimbatore Institute of Technology on Monday. As many as 22 engineering colleges from Coimbatore, Erode, Nilgiris and,Tirupur are taking part in the tournament.
On the first day of the tournament, the Nehru Institute of Engineering and Technology defeated Builders Engineering College, Tirupur (3-0) while in another first round match, Vellalar College of Engineering and Technology registered their first win against Kalaignar Institute of Technology (4-0.).
In yet another match, Kumaraguru College of Technology beat Bannari Amman Institute of Technology (2-1) and Sri Shakthi Institute of Engineering and Technology defeated Hindustan Institute of Technology (3-0).
