Coimbatore : Participating in the 15th national-level silambam championship held in KSR Engineering College at Namakkal on Sunday, students of Silambaya Club bagged 17 medals, including 9 gold, 3 silver and 5 bronze.
Coimbatore : Participating in the 15th national-level silambam championship held in KSR Engineering College at Namakkal on Sunday, students of Silambaya Club bagged 17 medals, including 9 gold, 3 silver and 5 bronze.
The winners and coaches were felicitated by the president of Silambalaya Welfare Trust, Dr Selvakumar. Around 900 participants from across the country took part in the event. Of these, ten were students of Silambalaya Club in Puliyakulam.
The medal winners are Sri Varshan (SBOA), Shiny Richmond (St. Anthony's School) Monish (Carmel Garden), Priya Dharshini and Charukeshini (Corporation Girls School, Ramanathapuram), Pooja (Kendriya Vidyalaya), Priscillia Angel (YWCA), Krishnakumar (ALG School), Arun Pandian (SNR College of Arts and Science) and Nivethitha (PSGR Krishnammal College for Women). They were trained by Saranraj and Ranjithkumar.
