Coimbatore : The PSG College of Arts and Science has lifted the trophy in both men's and women's categories in the of district-level basketball tournament for the 'Chief Minister Trophy,' organised by the Sports Development Authority of Tamil Nadu, Coimbatore division, here at the Nehru Stadium between February 4-7.
Coimbatore : The PSG College of Arts and Science has lifted the trophy in both men's and women's categories in the of district-level basketball tournament for the 'Chief Minister Trophy,' organised by the Sports Development Authority of Tamil Nadu, Coimbatore division, here at the Nehru Stadium between February 4-7.

About 22 teams including 7 women teams competed in the tournament which was conducted under the knockout and league basis. In the men's category, PSG CAS, Rajalakshmi Mills High School, Wings and YMCA were the four teams that qualified for the league round.
PSG CAS won all its matches in the league stage thus clinching the trophy in the men's category. Following PSG, Rajalakshmi Mills High school with just one defeat to PSG CAS secured the second place, while Wings and YMCA secured the third and fourth places respectively.
Similarly, in the women's category, PSG CAS emerged winners with three wins in the league while PSGR Krishnammal finished second and Alvernia BC secured the third place in the tournament.

MLA Amman K Arjunan was the chief guest at the prize distribution ceremony and awarded prizes to the winners. Jayachandran, DSO (In-charge) and coaches of various teams were also present at the prize distribution.
