Coimbatore: The 14th inter-state level Sepak Takraw Tournament for the PSG Tech Trophy kick-started at the PSG Tech College Grounds on Friday. The three-day tournament is being organised by the Physical Education Department of PSG Tech, with around 18 teams comprising of 11 men's team and 7 school teams from various part of South India participating in the tournament. Saravanaa, Head for Public Relations and Corporate Communications, PSG Institutions inaugurated the tournament.

The three-day tournament is being organised by the Physical Education Department of PSG Tech, with around 18 teams comprising of 11 men's team and 7 school teams from various part of South India participating in the tournament. Saravanaa, Head for Public Relations and Corporate Communications, PSG Institutions inaugurated the tournament.
The tournament is being conducted under various categories - School Zone, Premier and Championship. The participants are playing in three different events such as team events (9 players in a team), Regu (3 players) and doubles event.
On the first day of the tournament, the Chennai team defeated Tirunelveli by 2-0 in the group event while the Tirunelveli team registered a win against PSG Tech College by 3-0. Similarly, in the Regu category, PSG Tech and the Calicut team registered wins against the PSG Alumni team by 3-0.
The Physical Director Dr. S Somasundaramoorthy of PSG Tech was also present at the inauguration.
