Coimbatore: In a bid to encourage Sportsmanship and enhance their skillset, the Sports Development Authority of Tamilnadu (SDAT) will be organising various sports event under the banner 'Chief Minster Trophy' which kicked off at Nehru Stadium here on Tuesday.
Coimbatore: In a bid to encourage Sportsmanship and enhance their skillset, the Sports Development Authority of Tamilnadu (SDAT) will be organising various sports event under the banner 'Chief Minster Trophy' which kicked off at Nehru Stadium here on Tuesday.
Various sports events such as- Gymnastics, Handball, Badminton, Kabaddi, Weightlifting, Table tennis, Swimming, Volleyball, Basketball, Athletics are to be conducted under the proposed 'Chief Minister Trophy'. Events which started today will last till February 7.
The events are being conducted for both men and women below 21 years of age. The best players from this events will take part in the state level meet to be held later this year.
Being the first day of the event, as scheduled Gymnastics competition was held at the Nehru Stadium. Around 50 men and women participated in the event.
Various events such as Floor exercise, Vault, Pommel Horse, Parallel Bars, Horizontal Bars, Beam and rings for both men and women were conducted.
V Selvamurugan (Pommel Horse), D Alagar (Roman Rings), J Sanjay Abishek (Floor exercise), G Rogit (T. Vault), G Isravel Raj (Parallel bar), P S Nishaanth (Horizontal bar) were successful in the mens category. And in women's category M Kanishka (Floor exercise), S Neha (Vaulting Table), S Vaisnavi (Uneven bar), G Anchana (Balancing beam) emerged victorious in their respective categories.
