Coimbatore: To commemorate 'Girl Child Day' 2019, the Camford International School in the city had organised a basketball tournament 'Camford Basketball Shooting Stars Championship 2018 -19' exclusively for girls at the school premises here on Tuesday.
Coimbatore: To commemorate 'Girl Child Day' 2019, the Camford International School in the city had organised a basketball tournament 'Camford Basketball Shooting Stars Championship 2018 -19' exclusively for girls at the school premises here on Tuesday.
Aimed at motivating the girl children to explore their talents and celebrate their success, the tournament was conducted under the patronage of officials of Coimbatore District Basketball Association.
The tournament is exclusively for U14 girls team in which seven schools took part.
Out of the eight teams, Yuva Bharathi public school emerged as champions and the host Camford international School secured the second place.
The third and fourth places were secured by C.S Academy and The Indian Public School respectively. The Player of the tournament was awarded to Rithi Varshini M of Yuva Bharathi Public School.
Tharasana K of C. S. Academy was awarded The Best Defender, The Best Rebounder was Shreya Srikanth Chetty of The Camford International School. And, Prathi R of The Indian Public School was adjudged the Best Ball Handler.
Chairman of Camford School and dignatories took part in the prize distribution.
