During the 70th army day celebrations held at Madras Regiment Centre, Wellington Cantonment, tribute was paid to the martyrs.
In a bid to garner the attention of youngsters to join the armed forces and to stress on the importance of physical fitness, a 5 km mini marathon was held at Thangaraj Stadium in Coonoor.
Around 200 students from various schools participated in the event. Army hospital Commandant, Pankaj P Rao distributed certificates and memorandum to the participants.
