Nine matches held between School teams for the past two days here. The District football convener Mohankumar arranged the matches. The aim of the programme is to find the best talents between the age of 10 and 15 years for various national teams.
The School Sports Promotion Foundation was formed in partnership with Sports Authority of India to promote various games amongst school students and scout best talents to represent the country through tournaments.
In the first phase, the Foundation is planning to conduct tournaments for 2 lakhs students in 250 districts, across 22 states. The selected students will be given necessary training, stipend and they would be participating in tournaments at the state and national level.
