Coimbatore: More than 100 cyclists took part in the district-level cycle race 'MTB Challenge 2018' held by the Cycling Team at Western Valley, in the outskirts of the city on Sunday.
Coimbatore: More than 100 cyclists took part in the district-level cycle race 'MTB Challenge 2018' held by the Cycling Team at Western Valley, in the outskirts of the city on Sunday.

The race was conducted to create awareness for a plastic-free environment and motivate children to cycle. The race was organised for cyclists from the age of 10 years to above 35 years, and was conducted under various categories like boys, girls, men and women.

In the Boys 10-14 years category, Allen Rovan secured first place and Harshit secured second place. Gokul Krishnan and Daniel bagged the top two spots in the 14-16 years category, while Srijith and Sarath emerged victors in the 16-18 years category.

Similarly, in the Girls category, Pooja Swetha, Dhanya, Sanjana, Hasini, Shruthi, Monisha, Jothi and Premalatha were winners and runners-up in their respective categories.
Krishnamoorthy, the Secretary of the Coimbatore District Cycling Association flagged off the race and distributed prizes to the winners.
