Coimbatore : In the under 19 Kabaddi tournament held at Karamadai here, Narain sports club of Tholampalayam emerged as champions.
Around 40 teams took part in the under 19 Kabaddi Tournament at Dr. R. V. Arts and Science College at Karamadai in Coimbatore.
Narain Sports Club emerged as champions of the tournament by beating Sathyaveeran team in finals. The winning team was awarded with a trophy and cash prize of Rs. 4000.
Sathyaveeran team bagged second prize and were awarded with runner trophy and a cash prize of Rs. 3000. Yuva challengers of Tholampalayam grabbed the third spot and SRKV of Periyanaickenpalayam who bagged the fourth spot was awarded with a cash prize of Rs 1000.
Jayaprabhakaran of Narain sports club received best defence player award and Boopathi of Sathyaveeran team was awarded the best offense player award.
Earlier, V. Gopalakrishnan, Former MLA and Trustee of the College and Secretary R.Sundar inaugurated the tournament.
