Coimbatore : Abinaya Raghupathy, a self-taught skater studying class XI student of National Model School has bagged a Bronze medal in 56th National Roller Skating Championship (RSFI) held at Visakhapatnam between 19th and 23rd December.
Coimbatore : Abinaya Raghupathy, a self-taught skater studying class XI student of National Model School has bagged a Bronze medal in 56th National Roller Skating Championship (RSFI) held at Visakhapatnam between 19th and 23rd December.
Abinaya created a record in 25 years skating history as she becomes the first quad girl Skater from Coimbatore to bag a national medal in derby event at Roller Skating Federation of India's National Roller Skating Championship. She also holds a record for being the first woman coach in Tamil Nadu.

Inspired from the skating demo held at her School when she was studying Class V, Abinaya decided to take the sports as her career. There on, she was very determined in skating and has won several medals and championship in District and State level.

Talking to Simplicity, National Bronze medalist Abinaya said, "I have been in skating for six years and have won six championships in District level competitions and six championships in State level competitions.

I used to practice for three hours a day and I am able to balance my studies and sport well." She also credits her parents Ragupathy and Renuka for supporting her.
