The winning goal for the Real Kashmir was converted by Koffi Tetteh in the 78th minute of the game. The referee handed them a very controversial penalty to disappoint the home crowd.
The home team, management and crowd were very disappointed as the referees made a couple of wrong decision which cost the entire match for the host Chennai City FC.

Chennai City FC created its first chance at the 17th minute of the game when Pedro Javier misplaced the heading which went slightly wide. From then it was a very tight game for both the team as they had very strong defences.
Even at the 31st minute of the game, the host had an opportunity of scoring a goal when Nestor Jesus Gordillo got a pass from Pedro Javier but it didn't get converted into a goal.
The visitors showed their aggression throughout the match and involved in some fouls and yellow cards with intent and that created them a chance of scoring a goal but the defence of Chennai headed by Roberto did not give them an easy chance. Both teams went goalless for the halftime.

Chennai City FC started their second half with attacking intent but failed to convert them into scoring chances as they went on to make some mistakes. Continuing in an aggressive manner, at the 67th minute, a perfect team effort from the host created another chance of a goal but the efforts of visitor goalkeeper saved them a goal.
As the match was heading towards a draw, the luck went in favor of the visitors as they got a penalty which was easily converted by Koffi Tetteh to become the first team to defeat Chennai City FC in the Hero I League 2018-19.
