Coimbatore : Kamala Subramaniam Schools from Thanjavur has won the 44th State level Basketball Tournament for PSG Trophy held at PSG Sarvajana Higher Secondary School, on Sunday.
Coimbatore : Kamala Subramaniam Schools from Thanjavur has won the 44th State level Basketball Tournament for PSG Trophy held at PSG Sarvajana Higher Secondary School, on Sunday.

Kamala Subramaniam from Thanjavur and MSP Solai Nadar School from Dindigul were the two teams qualified to the finals in which Kamala Subramaniam School emerged as champions.
In a close finals between Kamala Subramaniam and MSP Solai Nadar Schools, Kamala Subramaniam school clinched the Trophy by three points to emerge champions of the 44th State level Basketball Tournament.
V.S. Lavan of Kamala Subramaniam School scored 25 points for his team in the finals.
In a match for the third place, the host PSG Sarvajana Higher Secondary School won the match against Sri P Mallaiyan Matriculation Higher Secondary School to secure third place in the tournament. R. Priyadharsan scored 31 points in the third place match.

V.S. Lavan of Kamala Subramaniam school was selected as the best player of the tournament and the award was presented by P. Narayanaswami, Secretary of PSG Sarvajana Higher Secondary School.

A total cash prize worth Rs. 20,000 was distributed to the winners. G. Selvaraj, President, Coimbatore District Basketball Association and Managing director, CRI Groups distributed the prizes.
