Coimbatore: Shri P Mallaiyan Matriculation Higher Secondary School has lifted the 28th Sugumaran Memorial Basketball Trophy. The tournament was jointly organised by the Round Table 9 and Texcity Sports Club, at the VOC Park Corporation Basketball ground, on Wednesday.
Coimbatore: Shri P Mallaiyan Matriculation Higher Secondary School has lifted the 28th Sugumaran Memorial Basketball Trophy. The tournament was jointly organised by the Round Table 9 and Texcity Sports Club, at the VOC Park Corporation Basketball ground, on Wednesday.
In the three-way tie in the Boys category, Mallaiyan School, Suburban Higher Secondary School and PSG Sarva Jana Higher Secondary School, Mallaiyan emerged as champions with a huge margin of difference in points. Similarly, in the Girls category, Alvernia Matriculation Higher Secondary School clinched the trophy defeating the CCMA Girls Higher Secondary School by a margin of 54-28.
About 17 school teams, among which six were Girls teams, participated in the tournament that was kick-started on November 23. Ashvin Kumar, Area Chairman, Area 7, Round Table of India awarded the prizes for the winners in the Boys category. T Poonguzhali, Chairperson, Coimbatore Ladies Circle, gave away the prizes for the winners in the Girls category.
